Our team

Lee White

Creative Department Manager

Lee joined us 27 years ago. His industry knowledge, attention to detail and drive to provide an excellent customer experience are what makes him so valuable to us. In addition to overseeing our graphics department and fielding sales calls, Lee has taken the initiative to head our Electronic Message Center training. There is no project too large and no project too small for Lee to tackle. He is equipped with a can do attitude and incredible skill.

In his free time Lee enjoys spending time at his beloved camp with family and friends. He also treasures his time spent in his work shop woodworking.

David Jipson

Senior Graphic Designer

If you are looking for someone with a great eye for visual style than Dave is your guy. Dave works diligently with our customers to take their vision to reality --always exceeding their expectations. He keeps our office in stitches with his quick wit, impersonations and crazy antics. Work hard, play hard…that’s what they say right? Dave is the definition of that, he opens the office in the morning and often closes it at night but always maintains his sense of humor and upbeat attitude.

When Dave is not drafting up a genius design or being the office comedian – He enjoys time with the people he cherishes the most; his loving wife, three daughters, son, and sweet grand baby. Family time occasionally gets interrupted on Sundays for football...rooting for the New England Patriots of course.

Ed Tapley

Graphic Designer

Ed joined us not too long ago but has proven to be a huge asset to our team in that short time. We are blown away by his professionalism at age 22 and the talent he possesses with graphic design and vinyl application. He is a joy to work with and we know our customers would agree. We look forward to watching him grow with our business.

When Ed is off the clock you will find him working on his music/art projects or if the weather permits it you can guarantee he is hiking his favorite trails in Baxter State Park.

Rick Hawkes

Service and Fabrication Manager

Rick is a skilled fabricator, sign builder, and installation foreman. He has been crafting signs from scratch with us for 33 years, melding fine old-world craftsmanship with new-age techniques that please even our most stringent customers' requirements. Rick's level of sign building expertise is second to none and the care that goes into his work will show for many years.

Anthony Moore

Fabrication and Service Technician

Anthony joined us 4 years ago, prior to coming on board he worked in commercial delivery and was an apprentice electrician. During his time here he has furthered his education and obtained additional electrical licensing. He is a jack of all trades; lending a hand wherever needed from fabrication and installation to vinyl application.

Outside of work Anthony enjoys working on race cars and spending time at the track with friends. He is also a skilled golfer and a sports fanatic.

Ben Bowley

Fabrication and Service Technician

Ben came on board and 2004. He has a very pleasant demeanor and rarely misses a day’s work. Ben and our other technicians often work outdoors year round -- as we all know Maine’s weather is unpredictable and can be harsh. His dedication to our customers and his position is something we really admire.

Ben’s motto is “But coffee first” ... He definitely runs on Dunkin’. Outside of the office Ben spends time with his two children and shares his love for the outdoors with them. A few of his favorite hobbies are hunting, fishing and snowmobiling.

Mike Pickering

Fabrication and Service Technician

After 18 years at Bath Iron Works as a first class welder Mike transitioned in to the sign business and we were certainly glad to have him. He is a very skilled and talented employee. Ben and Mike work alongside each other most days. They are an unstoppable duo whether they are fabricating a new sign or out on an install.

Time is precious and when Mike is not hard at work he is soaking up time with his cherished grand kids, children and wife.

Joel Hansen

Vice President

Joel joined the family business in 1983 and has worked alongside his wife Gayle for last 35 years. He takes pride in what we do here. Joel has fully immersed himself in the business working on the road, aiding our techs with fabricating, fielding sales calls, ordering materials, and collaborating with the design team.

When Joel is not hard at work he enjoys spending time at the family’s camp. His favorite past time is fishing and loves to take his grandsons along with him.

Gayle Treworgy

President

Gayle grew up in the family business her father Robert Treworgy began in 1948. Gayle took a strong interest in the design aspect of the business. She attended the Butera School of Art in Boston, MA. After completing school Gayle came back to Bangor Neon to work with her father and mother. Many of the signs we designed were hand drawn by Gayle before computer software came in to play. She has adapted to the technology over the years and has made sure we stay ahead of the curve. With over 40 years’ experience she is without a doubt a master of her trade.

Grace Treworgy

CEO

Grace has dedicated the last 68 years to Bangor Neon. She has been in the office full time managing the bookkeeping until this past year. Grace is truly the heartbeat of Bangor Neon, she is adored by our employees, customers and vendors. Her late husband, Robert Treworgy, is her inspiration for all she does for the business and the community. She is committed making sure that Bangor Neon provides quality signs and service just as her husband did for so many years.

Grace is really treasuring all her extra time she has to spend with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren in her retirement.

Ansley Moore

Office Manager

Ansley returned to Bangor Neon after her grandmother Grace retired. She holds a degree in Business Administration and Marketing and has spent the last 7 years working within two large financial institutions. It was a natural fit to have Ansley back in the office taking care of our bookkeeping and financials. She has also helped tackle several projects for us in the past few months, partaking in renovations within the business, managing our social media accounts and revamping our website.

In her free time she enjoys competing in road races/triathlons, giving back to her community (doing so through several of her favorite charitable organizations) and most importantly spending time with her husband, son and two dogs.

Dylan Moore

Toddler Genius

Dylan is 1 1⁄2 and already loving the family business. He enjoys coming in and making his rounds visiting all of our employees, especially his Grandpa (Joel). He is creative and enthusiastic. Dylan is a master of building block towers, a baby Picasso with finger paint and he crafts the best play dough sculptures. We are loving watching him grow and can’t wait to see what the future holds for him!
